Case Study and Results (I) Hong Kong-invested Textile Manufacturers

Customer Name

  • Hong Kong-owned textile manufacturers

Time

  • To be put into operation in September 2024

Project Background

  • The company mainly produces sweaters and garments. Its dyeing and finishing processes consume a lot of steam, which is currently supplied by two biomass pellet steam boilers with a capacity of 6t/h and 10t/h, running 10 hours a day and used for about 30 days a month. The tap water used by customers currently has a high calcium and magnesium content, with a TDS of 100-120. Although a water softener has been used, the boiler wall is still severely scaled, resulting in lower energy efficiency. According to the current steam generation and biomass fuel consumption ratio, it is about 1 ton of steam / 250 kg of biomass fuel (calculated at 4500 kcal), which is lower than the thermal conductivity of general boilers. It is expected that scale will lead to a decrease in heat exchange efficiency and increase production costs.

Renovation Plan

  • The power consumption of electromagnetic wave water treatment system is 35w, one set for each steam boiler, 2 sets in total;

Test Method

  • By installing a steam meter to compare and monitor the energy consumption per unit of steam output before and after the transformation, the energy saving rate was 9%;

Results

  • It is expected to save 5 tons of biomass pellet fuel each year;
  • The total fuel cost is expected to be saved by RMB 531,648 per year, with a payback period of about 1 year.
