Project Background

Ceramic factories widely use water gas as fuel. Sulfur dioxide (SO2) in its combustion flue gas is one of the main pollutants emitted by ceramic factories, and a desulfurization system is required to meet environmental emission standards.

The factory adds 1.5 tons of lime to the circulating water system every day for desulfurization spraying. After the lime is mixed with sulfide, high-hardness sulfate crystals are formed, which clog the 200 spray pipes. The factory needs to stop production for one day every 10-15 days for cleaning and maintenance, which greatly affects production efficiency.

Renovation Plan

  • Install electronic descaling devices on the sprinkler system pipes to continuously interfere with sulfide, calcium and magnesium ions in the water with high-frequency electromagnetic waves, reduce the adhesion of calcium sulfate scale on the pipes and the maintenance workload, and improve desulphurization efficiency;

Test Method

  • The anti-scaling effect is analyzed by collecting flow and pressure change data before and after the transformation.

Results

  • 45 days after installation, the amount of scale in the spray pipe of the ceramic plant’s desulfurization recycling water system was reduced by 95%, maintaining normal flow;
  • Significantly reduce more than 90% of manual cleaning and maintenance time and production downtime;
  • Extend equipment service life.
